Winter Essentials for Pets

As the weather starts to take a turn for the worst, our pets may require a little more TLC to keep them warm and safe. We have a few winter essentials to give you a helping hand. Our dog jackets are handy for keeping your dog warm on those wintery walks, especially if they don't have a lot of fur or if they are a little older. We also have a selection of dog beds, blankets and cat beds to keep your cats and dogs cosy indoors.

Something for small pets & reptiles

Our guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, fish and reptiles are just as important when it comes to keeping your pets warm during the winter months. For small pets you can provide extra bedding so that they can snuggle in. If you have small indoor pets it's worth moving their house away from areas where there is a cold draught coming through.

Not all fish require a heater however if you have tropical fish like guppies, rosy barbs, tetras, zebra danios or swordtails then you'll need a fish tank heater as the wintery months approch us. The heater ensures that the temperature of the water in the tank remains steady and doesn't drop too low as this could cause stress on you fish which could lead to stress related illnesses or death. In colder climates. Reptiles may also require additonal heat which they can get from heat lamps when it's a little colder.
