Pond Water Treaments
If you have fish in your pond at home, then probably the most fundamental part of your care for them is making sure that the pond water does not become clogged with sludge and algae. It is not the case that draining the water and replacing it with fresh water is the best way to ensure optimum conditions for your fish. In fact, getting rid of older water can be detrimental, as this will get rid of the delicate ecosystem. For instance, fresh water will not contain the same amount of beneficial bacteria that helps to break down harmful fish waste. However, there is a much more effective and more convenient way of making sure that the conditions are ideal for your fish to thrive in day to day. Tetra pond treatments
You will find that there are a variety of options available which will help you to keep your pond water clear of unpleasant and harmful buildup. You will for example be able to use Tetra's Crystal Water treatment, which binds particles of dirt together and clears dirty water within a few hours. This not only leaves the pond a lovely place for your fish to roam around in, but also means that you can see the gorgeous colours of your fish more clearly. As well as the pond clear water treatment, you can also use Tetra's helpful bacteria treatment. This tops up the water's beneficial bacteria. This bacteria will work to break down the harmful pollutants such as ammonium and nitrite, as well as the organic substances, such as fish waste and foliage. This product is especially useful when setting up a new pond that will not yet have been able to build up this level of helpful bacteria.

In terms of removing algae, Tetra also have a green water treatment that will turn that algae infused water into a beautiful clear pond, all while doing this in a way that is safe for fish and pond plants. Sludge remover
Pond sludge is made up of organic compounds such as leaves, plant matter, food remains and fish waste. It looks unpleasant but, worse than that, it can become extremely harmful to fish by reducing the oxygen levels in the water. Tetra's formula breaks down the sludge with its effective bacteria and enzymes, leaving the water in a better state of biological balance to support your thriving set of fish. In terms of balance, you might also want to look at Tetra's Water Balance treatment, which adds essential trace elements and vitamins, and stabilises carbonate hardness, in order to keep pH/KH stable.
